Mrs. Barbara Ann Thompson Lunsford, 64, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, August 20, 2012.The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 atFirst Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Porter and Rev. Bryson Williams officiating.The interment will be at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Gene Lunsford, 1041 Ridgeview Road, Chester, SC 29706. Born January 24, 1948 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Lunsford was the daughter of Cynthia Dickey Thompson and the late Earl Brison Thompson, Sr.She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from the G-Mart convenience store.She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and an avid cake decorator and baker.Her passion was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Ralph E. Lunsford, Sr., two daughters, Darlene Gibson and husband Tim of Chester and Gina Grant and her husband Dwayneof Union; two sons, Gene Lunsford and Roy Lunsford and his wife Lori all of Chester; seven grandchildren, Kelly Thomas and husband Aaron, Tripp Lunsford and wife Caitlan, Krista Williams and Tori Lunsford all of Chester, Caitlin Grant and Daniel Grant both of Union, SC and Burton Williams of Rock Hill; four great grandchildren, Jay Thomas, McKinley Thomas, Landon Lunsford and Chloe Williams all of Chester; one brother, Earl Brison Thompson, Jr and wife Becky of Chester.She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Nancy Campbell Lunsford.
