Barbara Darlene Tairney Stephens

Mrs. Barbara Darlene Tairney Stephens, 85, died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clint Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Stephens was born December 11, 1936 in St. Stephen, SC and was a daughter of the late Earl Tairney and Alma Wilson Tairney. She was a graduate of St. Stephen High school and was retired as a payroll clerk with Sequa Corporation. She is survived by her husband, Charles Shealy; one daughter, Wanda S. Buckley (Clair) of Chester, SC; two sons, Trey Stephens (Cheryl) of New Ellenton, SC and Ken Stephens of Chester, SC; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Earl Tairney, Jr. (Julia) of St. Stephen, SC; one sister, Mary Wilson, (Johnny) of Moncks Corner, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her first husband of more than 52 years, Clyde T. Stephens, Jr.; a granddaughter, Gracyn Jean Stephens; a sister, Jean Shealy; and a brother, James Tairney.
