Chester Mr. B.C. McAbee, 82, died Thursday, February 23, 2012.The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Saluda Street Church of God with Rev. Jimmie Cox and Rev. Roger Roof officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 ? 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Saluda Street Church of God. Mr. McAbee was born February 13, 1930 in Gaffney, SC and was a son of the late Alvin McAbee and Miller Rhea Stroud McAbee.He attended the schools of Fairfield County and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He was previously employed with J.P. Stevens, Springs Industries and Chester Sports Wear.Mr. McAbee was a member of Saluda St. Church of God. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Wilma Ruth Steadings McAbee; two sons, Mike McAbee and his wife Sheila and William ?Peanut? McAbee and his wife Niwana both of Chester; one daughter, Ann Campbell and her husband Claude of Chester; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, George McAbee, William McAbee and Billy McAbee all of Great Falls; three sisters; Mary Knopf, Ruby Dean Sellers both of Great Falls and Carolyn Griffin of Lancaster and his caregiver Ukisha Price. He was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie Lee Rigsby.
