Mr. Arthur Weir Beam, 65, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson and Rev. Dale Roddey officiating.The interment will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:00 ? 2:00 PM Friday at Woodward Baptist Church. Born April 17, 1945 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Beam was a son of the late Ellis Belton Beam and Janie Mae Weir Beam Yongue. He was educated in the schools of Blackstock and graduated from Chester High School Class of 1963.He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was self employed as a farmer and worked as engineer for the Canal Wood Company. He was a member of Woodward Baptist Church where he was serving as an active Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dodds Beam; two sons, John Ellis Beam of Chester and Kip Thomas Michael Beam and his wife Robin Montgomery Beam of Chester; one daughter, Jane Elizabeth Beam; five grandchildren Denae Beam, Kasie Beam, Ren Beam, Monty Beam, and Jackson Beam Gibson all of Chester; mother-in-law, Jennie L. Dodds; nephew, Michael Beam; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Dodds; one sister-in-law, Doris B. Flenniken and many friends and love ones.In addition to his parents he ispreceded in death by his step-father Johnnie Oscar Yongue and a brother Ellis Thomas Beam.
