Annie Lee Duncan Melton

Chester Mrs. Annie Lee Duncan Melton, 93, died Sunday, May 1, 2022. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Dorsey, Daniel Wightman and Vernon Thomhill officiating.interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Parkway Baptist Church. Mrs. Melton was born November 16, 1928 in East Marion, NC and was a daughter of the late John Duncan and Gladys Bolden Duncan. She attended the schools of Chester, SC and was retired from Springs Industries. Mrs. Melton was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church where she was a WMU Director served on the benevolence committee, sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by two children, Linda Melton Cassels (Mike) of Union, SC and Dale Wingate of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Donnie Jacobs (Leslie), Kevin Jacobs (Kirstan), Leigh Turner (Sean), Warren Cassels (Heathly), Tammy Redd (Jim) and Jason Wingate (Krista); sixteen great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Clifford “Poss” Melton; two brothers James Duncan and Johnny Duncan; son-in-law, Donnie Wingate. The family would like to thank her caregivers, her niece Vickie Fairfax and Phyllis Hall.
