Chester, SC : Heaven welcomed a supportive wife, devoted community member and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, November 16, 2012. Mrs. Annie Lee Wishert Stephenson died at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Lowrys with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating.The family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born on December 10, 1920 in Chester County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Dean Wishert and Bessie Hinnant Wishert and the widow of William Hennies Stephenson. Mrs. Stephenson attended the schools of Chester County, was retired from Grace Bleachery in Lancaster as a seamstress with over forty years of service and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Lowrys. She also cooked breakfast and dinner for the family and farm employees on the Stephenson Dairy Farm before starting her day with the Cotton Mill. Mrs. Stephenson took pride in cooking and serving her family, farm employees, and anyone who visited her family’s farm. Many “adopted” community children lovingly called her “momma” or “grandmomma” as she loved them as her own. Mrs. Stephenson is survived by a son, Ronald H. Stephenson, Sr. and his wife, Susan of Lowrys, SC; five grandchildren, Ron Stephenson (Teri). Mary Jo S. Jolley (Andy) all of Lowrys, SC,Maurice Walsh (Elizabeth) of Gastonia, NC, Leigh Ann Walters (Scott) of Greenville, SC and Keriah Llaneza (Frank) of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Bessie W. Fant; brother-in-law, Avon Lee Stephenson (Donnie); sister-in-law, Mary S. Connor, Lowrys, SC and fifteen great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to Mrs. Stephensons caregivers, Esther Cameron and Jean Flagg as well as several others who gave unconditionally of their time.
