Chester, SC: Mr. Andrew Clyde, 82, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home.The family will receive will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday, November 13, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home.The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Joseph’sCatholic Church with Father Joseph F. Pearce officiating.The interment will be private. Born June 16, 1935 in Astoria, New York, Mr. Clyde was a son of the late Francis and Bridget Mitchell Clyde.He attended the schools of New York and wasa veteran of the U.S. Navy.Mr. Clyde was retired from Newsday in Long Island, New York. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-seven years, Dorothy Eckert Clyde; three sons, Andrew Scott Clyde (Daphne) of Chester, SC, Robert John Clyde (Carol) of East Meadow, NY and William David Clyde (JoAnn) of Medford, NY; four grandchildren, Kimberly Andrejkovics (Paul) of Medford, NY, Samantha Hilti (B.J.) of Medford, NY, Olivia Ann Clyde of East Meadow, NY,and Christopher Clyde of East Meadows, NY; two brothers, Lawrence Clyde (Phylis) of Islip, NY and Frances Clyde (Barbara) of New Jersey and one sister, Rosemary Mercier (Maurice) of Sarotoga Springs, NY.
