CHESTER Mrs. Alma Alice Bowers Walters, 97, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at her residence. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Westside Baptist Church in Chester with Rev. Terry Fowler officiating.The interment will be in Oak Ridge Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2774 McIlwain Road in Heath Springs, SC 29058. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the church. Born June 29, 1915 in Kershaw County, SC, Mrs. Walters was the daughter of the late Lemuel Bowers and Sarah Elizabeth Horton Bowers.She attended the schools of Kershaw County and was a homemaker.She was a member of Westside Baptist Church where she was responsible for the nursery and a Vacation Bible School teacher for many years and a member of the Light Sharers Sunday School Class.She was the widow of William Kelly Walters, Sr. She is survived by one son, Billy Walters and his wife Kathy of Chester; one step-son, Donald Walters and his wife Sarah of Kingsport, TN; five grandchildren, Jeannie Ballard, Susie Pederson, Donnie Walters, Allyson Stephenson and Josh Walters and eight great-grandchildren.
