Chester Mrs. Sarah Alice McCollum Ward, 75, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Porter officiating.Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 2,in the sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Ward was born August 29, 1937 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Hampton Banks McCollum and Dorothy Dodds McCollum Causey and the widow of Wallace Jefferson Ward.She attended the schools of Chester County and was formerly employed with Springs Industries.Mrs. Ward was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she formerly taught Sunday School and was involved with the children’s ministries. She is survived by one son, Robert E. Guyton and wife Eula of Chester; two daughters, Tracey D. Ward and Emily D. Ward both of Chester; four grandchildren,; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; andone brother, William A. Causey of Chester.She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles T. Guyton and Jeffery W. Ward; one grandson, Nolan Michael Ward; and a sister, Dora F. Mccollum. Memorials may be made to The March of Dimes, 240 Stoneridge Dr., Ste. 206, Columbia, SC 29210.
