Alice Jayne Riley Fudge

Edgemoor, SC: Mrs. Alice Jayne Fudge, 89, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at her home. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Woody Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the Harmony Room of the church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Mrs. Fudge was born in Washington, PA on August 26, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Jess Arthur Riley and Olive Faye Baker Riley. She attended the schools of Pennsylvania, was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corp having obtained the rank of Sergeant and was retired from Winthrop Credit Union as manager. Mrs. Fudge was a very active member of Harmony Baptist Church where she was a choir member, an accomplished soloist and served with the W.M.U. and various other committees within the church. She was politically active in the community and also enjoyed taking part in community events. Mrs. Fudge was the devoted wife of Harry O. Fudge, who preceded her in death after sixty-six years of marriage. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her “grandmother love” was not limited to her family but was felt in the hearts of all who knew her. Mrs. Fudge is survived by one daughter, Pamela F. Guinn (Bryan) of Edgemoor, SC; two sons, Harry O. Fudge, Jr. (Kathy) of Edgemoor, SC and Timothy O. Fudge of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren, Michelle Devinney (Donnie) of Choctaw, OK, Harry O. Fudge, III of Edgemoor, SC, Kelly G. Ware (Mike), Chris Guinn (Katie) and Casey Guinn all of Rock Hill, SC and Tressa Allen (Glenn) of Chester, SC and Jesse Fudge of Rock Hill, SC; eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Jack Riley (Ann) of Leesburg, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dale Riley Fudge and five brothers and one sister. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to her granddaughter, Tressa Allen, who cared for her grandparents in the later years of their lives.
