Chester Alice Julia Thomason Bass, 76, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at her home.The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Sealy and Rev. Charline Lanier officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Bass was born April 21, 1936 in York, SC and was a daughter of the late Earl Thomason and Edith Quillen Thomason.She attended the school of Lowrys, SC and retired from Springs Industries after 30 years of service.She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Wylie A. Bass, Jr. and wife Rose of York; four daughters, Barbara Maloney of Rock Hill, Sarah Walker of Lockhart, Carol Causey and husband Tim of Carlisle, and Susie Thompson of Chester; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Johnny Thomason of Spartanburg; three sisters, Peggy Hutto of McConnells, Becky Bonner of McConnells, and Bertha Leopard of Greenville.She was preceded in death by three daughters, Louise Atkinson, Julia Bass, and Alice Marie Bass; three brothers, and one sister.
