Alex Humphries

Walterboro: Alexander Buster Humphries 86, died Friday, January 15, 2010, at Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC. A funeral will be held 2:00PM Monday,January 18, 2010, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Boone officiating. Interment will be in Heath Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Humphries was born June 7, 1923, in Rock Hill, SC, a son of the late Samuel and Minnie McCormick Humphries. He was formerly employed with Duracell as a security guard. Mr. Humphries was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII in the South Pacific Theater and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters Gloria Boone and her husband Ronald of Lancaster, SC;Loraine Bronson and her husband Bill of Walterboro, SC; Patsy Keffer and her husband Max of Walterboro, SC ; one son Ricky Humphries of Richburg, seventeen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and one sister Leila Hamerick of Marietta, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM Sunday at Barron Funeral Home , 133 Wylie Street,Chester, SC, 29706.
