CHESTER, SC: Mr. Albert Leroy Vess, Sr. 80, died November 22, 2015 Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Barron Funeral Home with interment following in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Barron Funeral Home. Born May 29, 1935 in Chester, SC, Mr. Vess was a son of the late V.E. Vess and Jewell Flynn Vess.He was a graduate of Chester County Schools and retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor.He was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard, Chester Masonic Lodge #18,Hejaz Shrine and the Living Church of God. He is survived by his wife of over forty-eight years, Martha Robinson Vess; one daughter, Leanne Vess West her husband James of Chester, SC; two sons, Scott Vess of Myrtle Beach, SC and David Parker and his wife Haley of Indian Land, SC; six grandchildren, Scott Jr, Christie, Damon, Shannon, Davey and Danielle; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Albert Vess, Jr.,a grandson, Danny Vess and two brothers, Jack and Buddy Vess. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
