Alan David DuPas

Alan David DuPas, 57, died Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Barron Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.  Interment will be at a later date in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.

Alan was born June 27, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA.  He was a graduate of Chester Christian School in Chester, SC and Winthrop University.  Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Narwhal SSN 761 as a nuclear electronics technician.  Alan worked with Duke Energy.  He enjoyed sports, especially soccer. He loved his family and especially his nieces and nephews.  He was known for his unique and quirky sense of humor which people loved about him.  Alan was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Maria and Tom West of Chester, SC; brothers, Peter West (Tammy) of Newton, NC and Eli West (Carissa) of Elberton, GA; a sister, Eva Rose West of Lincolnton, NC; uncles, Ronald West of Darien, GA, Albert Friedrichs (Diane) of CA, George Friedrichs (Sharon) of CA, Ronald Morgan (Judi) of CA and Rev. Donald J. West of Thomasville, GA; an aunt, Janet Thompson (Mark) of Blackstock, SC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Alan was preceded in death by his father, Robert DuPas and his uncle, Dwight Anderson.
