Chester Mrs. Margaret Louise Ferguson Matthews, 91, died Monday, February 6, 2017, at her home.Funeral services will beheld at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday in the sanctuary of the church. Mrs. Matthews was born April 18, 1925 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Walter Ferguson and Nora Huskey Ferguson.She was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and retired from Springs Industries Katherine Plant.Mrs. Matthews was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.She loved gardening and traveling with the other seniors. She is survived by one son, William B. Matthews, III of Knoxville, TN; one daughter, Barbara B. Forbis of Chester; three grandchildren, Lynne F. Hinson of Matthews, NC, William B. Matthews, IV of Knoxville, TN and Shelby Lynne Matthews of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Mary Sue Teasley of St. Matthews, SC, Sarah Frances Lawson of Calabash, NC and Carolyn Jean Wood of Fort Walton Beach, FL; one brother, James Richard Ferguson of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, William B. Matthews, Jr.; one great grandchild, Marshall “Trey” Hinson; and two brothers, Melvin Harrison Ferguson and John Kenneth Ferguson.
