Chester Mrs. Clara Joyce Sealy Roof, 88, died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Helms-Gordon Residential Care Home in Fort Lawn, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Johnson, Rev. Melvin Pressley and Mr. Wayne Byars officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friend's from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, June 24, 2021 at First Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Roof was born August 16, 1933 in Union County, SC and was a daughter of the late James Henry Sealy and Louella Burns Sealy. She worked as a sitter with the elderly for over twenty years and previously worked with springs in the cafeteria.Mrs. Roof was a charter member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; Mrs. Roof was preceded in death by her son James Erwin Roof; brother, James Edward Sealy; sisters, Agnes Roof and Henrietta Farmer; Mrs. Roof was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Roof.
