Blair Mrs. Frances Crosby Davis Britton, 88, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at her home.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Cool Branch Baptist Church with Rev. John Epps officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, april 28, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Britton was born april 9, 1930 in Blair, SC and was a daughter of the late Joseph Jefferson Davis and Mattie Boulware Davis.She was a graduate of Monticello High School and was retired from Spring Industries after42 years of service.Mrs. Britton was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU. She is survived one son, James Steven Britton (Sandra) of Chester; one grandson, James Eric Britton (fiancé, Rebecca) of Rock Hill; step granddaughters, Angie Weir (Jody) of Chester, Stacey Miller (Eric) of Great Falls, and Kim Meloy (Regis) of Chester; great grandchildren, Jae, Britton, Atha, Grayson and Griffin all of Chester and Layla of Great Falls; nieces, Frieda Courtney (Buddy) of Lowrys and Debra Hancock of Chester; and nephews, Keith Weir (Wilma) of Maryville, TN, Michael Davis of Winnsboro, Tim Griffin (Betty) of Chester and Joe Griffin (Suzanne) of Rock Hill. Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by her husband of over 54 years, Harold James “Sonny” “Burr Head” Britton. Also a very heartfelt thank you to the four caregivers of Mrs. Britton,her two neices Freida Courtney and Debra Hancock and her two special friends Nancy Ford and Julie Curtis.
