Rock Hill Mrs. Bessie Ellen Wood Ross, 81, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Harbor Chase in Rock Hill.The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Chester, SC with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Born February 28, 1932 in Chester County, SC, Mrs. Ross was the daughter of the late Walter O. Wood and Marie Dill Wood. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from Springs Industries as cafeteria manager with over forty years of service.She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and the widow of James D. Ross. She is survived by one daughter Patricia R. Jones and her husband Terry of Chester; two grandchildren, Jennifer Jones-Campbell and her husband Ashley of Sharon, SC and Michelle Jones of Chester; two great grandchildren, Aedyn Ellis and Mallory Ellis both of Chester; five brothers, Mark L. Wood of Albuquerque, N.M., Sam Wood of Lancaster, SC, John C. Wood of Richburg, SC and J.T. Wood of Rock Hill, SC and Lawrence Wood of Heath Springs, SC.In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ross, Frank and Donald Wood and one sister, Catherine Wood.
